Prior to Adoption:
All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations,
free of internal and external parasites and in good health (as can be reasonably ascertained). They are also tattooed or
microchipped to positively identify them.
All of our dogs have been thoroughly evaluated and temperament
tested. They have been exposed to children, other dogs and some other pets. If any problems exist in any of these areas, they are
clearly noted in the dog's profile.
All of our adoption candidates are socialized to a variety of places,
sounds and experiences. We NEVER place any dog that has shown ANY human aggression! Each one of our kids has at least
a basic grasp of housetraining, crate training and some basic manners prior to adoption.

Adoption Policy:
We require an adoption application to be filled out by any
prospective adopter. The application requests references and living situation information. Once the information on the application
is verified, the application is presented to our board of directors for basic approval. At this point, a home visit will be scheduled.
(Luckily, volunteers for home visits are available in most areas. Therefore, adoptions can be facilitated in almost any locality.)
If all goes well at the home visit, our adoption contract can be signed and arrangements made for the lucky pet to join his/her new
family.
PLEASE do not be offended by any questions that are asked during
the adoption process. We are trying to ensure that each adoption is the correct match of owner and dog. Each dog has their own
unique personality, making them better suited to a certain type of home or lifestyle. It is our goal to make a perfect match.
It doesn't do anyone (least of all the dog) any good to place the wrong dog in the wrong situation. Then everyone is unhappy
and the dog winds up being returned. Just because the particular dog you were interested in doesn't fit your family, it does not
mean that the perfect dog is not waiting for you.
*NOTE: We do not place dogs as outside only pets
or as guard dogs.
