There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called
the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and
valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm weather. The old and frail animals
are young again. Here they play all day with each other.
There is only one thing missing.
They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth. So, each day they run and play with each other until the day
comes when one of them suddenly stops playing and looks up! Their nose twitches! Their ears perk up and their eyes are staring!
And then this one suddenly runs from the group!
You have been seen. And when you and your special friend meet, you take them in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again
and again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusted pet.
Then you and your pet cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never to be separated again.

The very special dogs featured on this page crossed to the
rainbow bridge while they were still in foster care, awaiting forever homes. They all share a very permanent and special
place in my heart -- I look forward to seeing them when I reach the bridge.
Charlie 2000 - 2001
Charlie was a young male American Pit Bull Terrier.
He was approximately 10 months old when he crossed to the bridge. He was chocolate and white with chocolate pigment and a most
extraordinary boy! He was found on the streets of the greater Los Angeles area by a good samaritan who brought him to us.
He had a rough time from the beginning. He was malnourished, full of worms and had a terrible case of Demodex. We got rid of
the worms and ran through 4 full treatments for the reoccurinng mange. He was never really healthy, we knew that there was
something compromised in his system to keep the mange reoccurring. But, it took quite awhile to find the culprit. He had a
congenital liver problem -- a liver shunt. We kept him comfortable as long as humanely possible. We let him journey to the
bridge on Oct. 1st 2001. God Speed sweet heart. You earned an amazing place in our hearts, forever.
Honey 1998 - 2001
Honey was a female American Pit Bull Terrier. She had been dumped in a shelter night bin -- left bleeding to death. Two guardian angles went to great lengths to save her. She also had many health complications. Her kidneys had been damaged from malnutrition and she had developed diabetes. After many months of vet care and TLC she passed quietly in her sleep. Goodnight, Honey.
Mason 1999 - 2001
Mason was a male American Pit Bull Terrier mix. He was found on the streets of Hollywood and brought to us by the couple that found him, when their dog would not accept him. Mason was a wonderful and lovable boy, he made friends wherever he went! Sadly, he died from a major siezure. He will not be forgotten.
Fred 2000 - 2001
Fred was a young male American Pit Bull Terrier. He was approximately 8 or 9 months old when he crossed to the bridge. He was chocolate and white with chocolate pigment and quite a handsome young fellow. He was found on the streets of the greater Los Angeles area by a kind hearted couple who brought him to safety. We know not what unspeakable atrocities he suffered in his short life but, he had suffered serious head trauma. While in surgery to repair the damage, he went into seizures and never regained consciousness.
Willie 1999 - 2001
Willie was an adorable male American Pit Bull Terrier. He was approximately 18 months old. He was a lovely fawn dog with a white head, he made quite a statment. He was picked up as a stray and taken into animal control. We responded to the call from a wonderful AC officer that we work with and brought him home. He was thin and had intermittent bouts of diahrea, we all thought it was worms and the usual culprits. We soon found out that wasn't the case. Willie had chronic liver failure. We lost him just a few short weeks after he came to us. Godspeed, Willie!
Shalla 1991 - 2000
Shalla was a lovely blue brindle Greyhound. Her previous owner became ill and was unable to care for her any longer, so she entered our rescue. She was one of the most unforgettable dogs I have ever known! She was with us for over 4 years. We lost her in 2000, at the age of 9 years. She was the ultimate couch potatoe and immensly preferred to sleep on the bed, on our feet, to her own doggy bed. Shalla proved herself as a supreme family companion and guardian, many times. First, she was badly bitten by a rattlesnake, while killing it to keep it from getting into the house. We thought we were going to lose her, that time. But, after some quick work by a great vet, she perservered! She would defend her family from any and all foes! She loved my son (who was a pesky 2 1/2 yr. old when she arrived) and all the other dogs. Despite being used for live coursing in her previous life, she was also excellent with cats and small animals -- she had enough common sense to know the difference. She is deeply missed!

Moose 1994 - 2000
