Hurricane, female, APBT | Hurricane came to us through an owner surrender. She found an excellent home with an avid jogger. She goes on all of his runs with him, giving her an outlet for her boundless energy. |

Magic, male, APBT | Magic came from an owner surrender, he had several issues that had to be worked through. Luckily, he was a bright and charming guy. Once he relearned trust, he overcame his obstacles and found a great home. |

Sadie, female, APBT | Sadie's previous owner loved her a great deal but circumstances caused her to surrender her to the rescue. Sadie was a shy girl and it took quite awhile to get her ready for a new home. However, she fell in love with a friend of her foster family and the feeling was mutual! Once he got to know her, he had to make her part of his life. |

Jethro, male, APBT | Jethro came to us from an animal cruelty case in Kern County. He is a wonderful dog with love to spare! He came through alot to finally find a great home with a family (he adores children) and his new sister, Cara, a female APBT. |

Kia, female, APBT | Kia came to us through an owner surrender. She was loving and sweet but, an voracious chewer and extremely high energy. It took awhile to find the right home for her -- in the end she was adopted by one of our great volunteers. |

Kobe, female, APBT | Kobe was brought to the vet as a pup to be euthanized because she only had 3 toes on one of her back paws. A young man adopted her from the vet's ofice to save her from this terrible fate. However when he moved on with his life, he left Kobe behind for his parents. They felt that they did not have the time to care for her and subsequently surrendered her to our group. Now, Kobe is one of the most loved and spoiled dogs around! She resides in Mexico with a wonderful lady and we are very fortunate to receive photos and cards from Kobe via her "aunt" in TX. |

Lucky, female, APBT mix | Lucky had a turbulent life! She was found as a young stray and subsequently adopted by her founder. But, when she decided to challenge the authority of the older female dog in residence, she had to go. Her vet had recommended euthanaisa, but her owner searched for a better solution and brought her to us. Luck was very fortunate, she found a home with a family that has lots of breed experience, as well as experience with dog aggression. Lucky truly is a LUCKY girl! |

Max, male, APBT | Max dug his way into a nice backyard with a dog buddy. The people he moved in with loved him a great deal, but they also loved cats and Max was too rough for the kitties. So, Max came to us. He was adopted at an adoption fair by a young couple with a small son. Max is now the resident dog at a home day care and as happy as a clam! |

Biscuit, female, Staffordshire Bull Terrier | Biscuit had lived a spoiled and happy life, but when the wife was left alone with a young child to care for, she could no longer care for Biscuit. Biscuit was adopted by a wonderful woman and her son. She now lives the life of Riley with daily runs on the beach and a canine pal. |

Kay, female, APBT | Kay had a led a very sheltered life, never leaving her own backyard. Then her young owner was forced by circumstances to give her up. She was very shy and scared and had some serious dog aggression issues. We had our doubts about her ever getting adopted. A wonderful lady from New England fell madly in love with her. She flew to CA to meet and adopt Kay. They rented a car and drove back home together! Kay is a spoiled and happy girl! |

Rocky, male, Am Staffordshire Terrier | Rocky was dumped at the animal shelter by his previous owners -- they "didn't have time for him." With the help of another rescuer, Rocky was neutered and brought to us. He now has an amazing home with a wonderful lady and two K9 pals, a Boxer girl and an APBT male. We are thrilled to receive updates and photos of Rocky on a regular basis. Hooray for Rocky! |
| Simba, male, APBT | Simba was given up by his lifetime owner when she could no longer care for him properly. He was one of our most charming residents but, had a serious case of seperation anxiety. Luckily for him, a stay at home mom fell in love with him and he is flourishing in his new home. | |

Sadie, female APBT | Sadie was a magnificent older girl rescued from a "kill all pit bulls" shelter. She had been held as evidence in a cruelty case for 5 months! She had had a difficult life and it showed in her broken teeth and scars but, not in her amazing personality! She loves everyone, both human and canine. She finally found just the right home to appreciate her special qualities. She is now a spoiled housepet and couch potatoe. |

BD, male, APBT | BD was dumped on an Indian Reservation and was left to his own devices. He saw a likely prospect and moved in with a woman and her two dogs. He managed to be inconspicous and got by with it! She fostered him for a few months while trying to place him, then she brought him to us. BD now lives in a home with 4 young children to love. |

No-C, male, APBT mix | No-C is a blind male -- his former owners adopted him from the pound, in bad shape. After awhile, their other dog decided that she didn't like him and attacked him. When they moved they had only room for one dog so, No-C came to us. He now has a loving and caring home with a young couple and their Doberman. |

Otis, male, APBT | Otis was picked up as a stray by animal control at a small shelter -- when his last day was up and they were going to euthanize him, a shelter volunteer called me. Otis is now a happy boy living with with his new family, including several children. He gets to go camping, hiking and canoeing! |

Diva, Female, APBT |
Diva was surrendered to the rescue by her owner when she was evicted from her home. Diva is quite the handfull! She is a very active, assertive dog that likes to climb fences. She now has a home with a like minded, active owner. |

Arnold, male, APBT | Arnold, "Arnie" to his friends, was found on the streets of San Fransisco by a good samaritan. After trying to find his owner, he was brought to us. A very unique boy with a lovable attitude, he was afopted by ayoung man. Arnie now is enjoying the good life |

Casey, male Pomeranian | Casey came to us after his owner died and there was no one left to care for him. He was in pretty bad shape, severe flea allergy dermatitis and chronic bronchitis. After lots of TLC and a year in foster care he found a terrific life partner and now lives in snowy Indiana. |

Langsyne, APBT, male | Langsyne began life as a stray in Philadelphia. His previous owner found him on New Year's Eve and took him in. (He was about 1 yr. old and weighed 20 lbs.) He was well cared for and spoiled until his owner moved to CA -- she then found it impossible to find housing that would allow a "Pit Bull" and Langsyne was brought to us. He is now very happy and terribly rotten -- permanently living with us and our mascot. |
| Irenie, APBT, female | Irenie was found as stray (or so the story was told) -- the people kept her for a few weeks and then begged us to take her. She was pregnant and had 9 pups in my van by the time we got home! After their birth, she was skin and bones -- after a few months on a good diet she was ready for adoption. She is in a good home with a mini American Eskimo as her best buddy. | |

Dortha, Standard Poodle, female | She was given to us from a puppy mill after she failed to conceive, for the 2and time. She had a rare parasite (caused from filth), as well as being underweight. She responded quickly to the vet care and is now living on a farm where she is the companion to two young boys. |

Amber, Cocker Spaniel, female | She came to us, no longer wanted by a backyard breeder, 6 weeks pregnant. This girl was supermom and after she raised her pups, she was placed as a companion to a retired lady. |

Leo, Cocker Spaniel, male | Leo was from a puppy mill -- he had been terribly neglected and spent his life in a small pen up to his ears in excrement. After much rehabilitation, he is now the companion of a retired lady. |

Tigger, Toy Poodle, male | Tigger began his life as the remnant of a puppy mill litter, the last one that didn't sell. He came to us with a bad infestation of ear mites and a retained testicle. After vet treatment and complicated neuter surgery he became the best buddy of a handicapped young lady. |
